Greenville, SC (FOX Carolina)- As unemployment numbers are up, the Upstate’s biggest school district has some opportunities for people trying to find a task. Greenville County Schools is hosting an in-person task fair at Wade Hampton High School this afternoon 5-7 p.m.. The district states their employment opportunities are terrific for anyone who wants to make a distinction in the quality of the regional community.
The district is working with for bus motorists, bus assistants, custodians and food service employees. These positions pay $10-$20 per hour. District Transportation Director Adam James states there’s especially a need for bus drivers. Today they require 80 motorists and 30 assistants.
“We have people who have actually exercised their alternative with the CARES Act. They might have household who can’t risk getting exposed. Thats all right. However there’s still a requirement,” stated Adam James, GCS Transport Director.
Training will be provided for all positions. Benefits will be offered for employees who work 30 or more hours each week. Those include health and dental, retirement, sick leave and free life insurance coverage.
Today’s job reasonable spread out through various class. Social distancing and masks will be required. Candidates can talk with department heads about the task and complete an application and background check, which takes about 3 days to process.
